Privacy Policy

All Parks Ahead has no accounts and no sign-ups. Here is what is collected when you visit, and by whom.

What We Don't Collect

You don't need an account to use the site, and we don't ask for your name, address or payment details. The budget calculator, the starting city picker and the Print and CSV downloads all run in your browser; what you type into them isn't sent to us.

Saved Settings on Your Device

The site remembers two choices in your browser's local storage so you don't have to set them again:

  • The starting city you pick for the route.
  • Whether park weather charts show °F or °C.

These stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager to run Google's analytics tags, which help us see which pages people visit and how they find the site. These tools may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the site that referred you and your approximate location. When you use the Print or Download CSV buttons, we record that the button was used (not what you downloaded). We use this information only in aggregate, to improve the site.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Affiliate Links

A script from our affiliate partner, Stay22, loads on every page. When you click a lodging link, it turns the link into an affiliate link so the booking site can credit us if you book. Stay22 and the booking site (such as Booking.com) may use cookies or similar technology to track that referral. Anything you enter on a booking site is covered by that site's privacy policy, not this one. See our affiliate disclosure for more.

Other Services the Site Loads

  • Google Fonts. The site's fonts load from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details to deliver them.
  • Map tiles. The interactive maps load map tiles and labels from VersaTiles (tiles.versatiles.org), built on OpenStreetMap data. Their servers receive your IP address and the map areas you view.
  • Our web host. Like most websites, our server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and time) for security and troubleshooting.

Emailing Us

If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply and track corrections. We don't add you to any list or share your message.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't sell your personal information.
  • We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. The site is a trip planner meant for adults.

Your Choices

  • Block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The site works without them.
  • Use a content blocker to stop analytics and affiliate scripts from loading. The lodging links still work as plain Booking.com searches.
  • Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at the address below. Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you more rights; we'll honor requests we're required to.
